Vancouver developer Primewest came to Unicycle with the challenge of communicating a vision before plans had even been drawn up. Primewest's philosophy is to engage neighbourhoods at the earliest stages of development, address issues and share their goals of creating sustainable, smart growth communities. It's a refreshing approach in a city where the development permit application sign is often a community's first notice of intent. |
We were involved in several planning meetings where the complexities of issues, benefits, and concerns were prioritized. We recommended giving the proposal a working name which reflected one of the main goals - to improve the pedestrian experience in the area. The result was Capilano Walk.
A simple tabloid-size flyer was produced to provide community information and introduce the concept of smart growth. The result was strong community support for the proposal and a solid foothold to continue the branding process. |
