Strong branding and clear communication make the power of a great cause even more effective.
For years, BC's Real Estate and Development Community has been donating to BC Children's Hospital. But donations had largely been given through personal contacts, with little recognition. And with the recent building boom in BC, we knew there was more out there for the kids. So the fundraising committee decided to create a new program that gets fundraising out of the boardroom and ties it to individual development projects, involving everyone from the developer to the on-site trades to the end buyers. |
Working as part of the volunteer Committee, Unicycle assisted with strategy, re-named the initiative, designed the logo (with help from 5-year old illustrator Jack Carter) and developed campaign materials, including creating a PSA TV spot and DVD video. Building for Kids raised over a million dollars this year, and with the increased reach and involvement of the project-based format, looks to build on that success for years to come.
